Out on a Limb is a collective of circus arts performers based out of Charleston, SC. Our mission is to provide spectacular entertainment for a variety of events and venues with acrobatics, aerial arts, and fire/LED performances. Our troupe provides a diversity of performance styles to choose from including acro duo, trapeze, lyra, silks, pole, lollipop, and more. Out on a Limb boasts a roster of world-class talent led by Dr. Andrew Zutell, a professional educator and acrobatic performer with over 10 years of experience teaching and performing partner acrobatics in the US and abroad. In addition to performing, Out on a Limb also offers workshops, classes, retreats, and private lessons

Partner Acrobatics, Aerial Arts, Emcee
Andrew is a professional educator and acrobatic performer with over 10 years’ experience teaching and performing partner acrobatics in the US and abroad. Andrew has collaborated with and represented many respected partners in the industry, including AcroYoga Intl., Young Audiences, Lululemon Athletica, The Crescent Circus, Cirque D’Licious, Snake Oil Festival, BUKU Festival, Carl Mack Presents, Bustout Burlesque, and Charleston’s own Oblique Magazine. His acrobatics troupe, Out on a Limb, has performed at numerous high-profile events, venues, and festivals and is guaranteed to bring high-energy fun and excitement to any event with a unique combination of traditional partner acrobatics, aerial arts, and fire performing.
Dr. Lauren Rubio
Aerial Arts, Partner Acrobatics
Lauren is a professional educator and has been practicing and performing aerial arts for over five years. She is a founding member of Out on a Limb Circus Arts. Her primary apparatus is the lyra or aerial hoop where she exudes a slow, powerful movement style and enjoys making defying gravity look effortless. Lauren also performs duo trapeze and acro dance.
Pole Dancing, Partner Acrobatics
Maddie Melotte is a multidisciplinary artist with a focus on pole, aerial arts, and acrobatics. She grew up training traditional studio dance styles, and in 2018 she fell in love with pole dance, which quickly became her main focus. Since then, she has gone on to become an accomplished and award-winning performer and instructor.
Flow Arts, Fire Performing
Aaron is a multi-prop flow artist that specializes in fire performing. His obsession with the flow arts started when he discovered the dragon staff in 2019. Since then, he has specialized in fire performing with a focus on dragon staff, contact staff, contact sword, and poi. Aaron is also well versed in fire safety and enjoys sharing all things flow arts with the community at large.

Reid is a multi-prop flow artist that specializes in fire performing. He became inspired after watching street performers, and began training with poi in 2012. Since then, he has traveled and performed all along the southeast, and loves to bring fire and flow wherever he goes.
Aerial Arts, Pole
Katie Kranz is a multi-disciplined movement artist primarily specializing in pole dance and aerial arts. She started her movement journey in 2017 and since then has acquired several regional and national titles in competitions. She now is a full time performance artist and instructor.

Aerial Rope (Corde Lisse), Aerial Silks
Jacob, a farm boy from Michigan, fell in love with Aerial Silks in 2019 after a friend invited him to attend a beginner class. He was later introduced to Aerial Rope, AKA Corde Lisse, after moving to Charleston in 2021. He began performing with Out On A Limb Circus Arts in 2022, and then began teaching aerial classes in 2023. Jacob extends a big thank you to all of his coaches, especially to Jordan, Clayton, and Jay at Aerial Fit and Pam, Scott, and Timnah at Uptown Aerial, for all of the love, inspiration, and encouragement they have shared!
Multidisciplinary Aerial Artist, Acrobat, Dancer
Kiara Star has been dancing for almost 10 years studying jazz, ballet, contemporary, and hip-hop genres. Kiara also has backgrounds in gymnastics and acrobatics and trained competitively for most of her early life. She studied with one of Charleston’s top college’s Dance Department and was a part of their nationally acclaimed dance team. She now takes all of these experiences to craft a unique approach to movement and continues to enjoy pushing the boundaries of her talents!
